Small Makes a Statement
The before-and-after photos here prove that one doesn’t need a large kitchen to make a statement. Saline-based Homeowner Services of America remodeled this galley kitchen in a home in the Ypsilanti, Michigan area. The original compact-sized kitchen is typical of many homes across the country.
The new cabinetry is Diamond Trystan maple from our sister company, First Design Cabinetry, also headquartered in Saline. The counters are Zodiaq quartz in flax. The under-cabinet lights are LEDs.
One of the more interesting challenges of this project was to add a pull-out pantry utilizing the wall between the kitchen and the attached garage. The rear garage entry door was moved to provide space for the pantry cabinet within the garage. The hot-water-heat radiator, which had also been on the wall, was replaced with an under-the-sink cabinet fan-driven hot-water heater.
The homeowner is very excited about his new kitchen. He is planning for HSA to complete other improvements in his Ypsilanti-area home.
