HSA’s David Rhoads Presents on Home Remodeling for Seniors at "Aging in Place" Conference
SALINE, MI — David Rhoads, the founder and president of Homeowner Services of America, Inc. (HSA) of Saline, Michigan, was one of three panelists who presented on the topic "Build or Remodel Your Home for the Future" on Tuesday, November 8, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at the Home Builders Association of Washtenaw County (HBAWC) in Ann Arbor, Michigan. A capacity crowd heard Rhoads and his co–presenters offer advice and answer questions about building and remodeling homes for easier living by senior citizens.
This "lunch and learn" event was part of the "Aging in Place" Conference held November 8–11 by the Housing Bureau for Seniors, a community–supported service of the University of Michigan Health System. "Aging in Place" sessions occurred at various locations around Washtenaw County during the four days of the conference. Details on the Housing Bureau for Seniors are available at www.med.umich.edu/seniors.
People who were unable to participate in the November 8 session can attend a repeat presentation, also featuring David Rhoads as a panelist, on Tuesday, November 22, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. This event will happen at HBAWC headquarters on 179 Little Lake Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48103. Pre–registration is recommended. The HBAWC can be contacted by phone at (734) 996–0100 or online at www.hbawc.com. Since 1985, Homeowner Services of America has successfully completed over 600 home remodeling projects. The company specializes in kitchens, baths, basements, additions, dormers, and master suites. HSA also modifies homes for those with special needs — for example, senior citizens and disabled people. Owner David Rhoads is certified by the National Aging in Place Council (www.naipc.org) to adapt homes for senior living.
Rhoads is also founder and president of First Design Cabinetry (FDC), an HSA sister company. FDC provides cabinetry for kitchens, baths, and home offices. Its solutions range from basic to fully customized cabinets, including framed and unframed units. FDC is an authorized dealer of Ultracraft, Diamond, Grandview, and Almega Cabinets.
In 2004, the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce selected Rhoads as Saline’s Citizen of the Year in recognition of his community involvement. He is also the current president of the Home Builders Association of Washtenaw County and a director of the state HBA.
