HSA and FDC to Contribute Portions of New Sales to Hurricane Katrina Relief
SALINE, MI — Two Saline–based remodeling firms — Homeowner Services of America, Inc. (HSA) and its sister company, First Design Cabinetry (FDC) — will contribute portions of all new sales from September through the end of 2005 to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Katrina disaster relief.
David Rhoads, the founder and president of both HSA and FDC, today announced the contribution, noting, "Our hearts go out to the victims of this terrible tragedy. My staff and I feel that giving to the Red Cross is the least we can do to help." For each new remodeling project, HSA will contribute from $250 to $500, depending on the project’s size. FDC, meanwhile, will give 5% of all new cabinetry sales.
Since 1985, HSA has successfully completed over 600 home remodeling projects. The company specializes in kitchens, baths, basements, additions, dormers, and master suites. HSA also modifies homes for those with special needs — for example, senior citizens, disabled people, and others. FDC provides cabinetry for kitchens, baths, and home offices. Its solutions range from basic to fully customized cabinets, including framed and unframed units. FDC is an authorized dealer of Ultracraft, Diamond, Grandview, and Almega Cabinets.
David Rhoads is president of the Home Builders Association of Washtenaw County and a director of the state HBA. He is certified by "Aging in Place" to adapt homes for easier living by senior citizens. In 2004, the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce selected Rhoads as Saline’s Citizen of the Year in recognition of his community involvement.
